I started this post in the wrong area so after day two I?ll start a new post in the right area. I knew I had a soft floor when I bought the boat so I managed to pull the wood up and of course it?s all the way down to the stringers in the back of my mind I knew this but didn?t think much of it until I started into it.Yes I?m knee deep all the way to the flotation foam!!
But hey I can do the work myself and have a cool boat when I?m done.

I was able to check out your thread on your restoration project. Looks like I am in for the same amount of work ahead of me. I don?t care though I restore early 1900s wooden body cars for living. I actually can?t wait to tear into it more !!

Not much work on the boat today just cleaned out some more wet foam I may as well take it all out and start over my question is In my Cuddy Cabin area is it possible to make the port and starboard sides of this area into some extra storage space under the cushions. And will it hurt not to have as much foam to in there as there used to be?

And again not any work done on the boat. My Restoration shop is way too busy with some important deadlines coming up and then some basic adult things we all have to do. Dang this stuff really interferes with my boating hobby. Hopefully I can get some time on her this coming week. The only thing I was able to do was design and draw out how I want to cut the sun deck/ engine cover to set two ski boat style jump seats back in to make more room inside the boat. But there is a ton of work to do before that happens.

Was able to get some more time on the project here and there the past couple of days. My results, a hammer thru a very damp stringer and brown colored drill shavings from my lower transom core test. So i guess the repair plan has changed time for outdrive, engine and all the mechanicals to get out of the way. Sure am glad I found this forum to gain info, tips and tricks!

Tear down and deck removal. I think the ski locker was added to the boat sometime later or is it normal to have a skil locker that is like 9 feet long it ran from 10 inches from the Cuddy doors all the way to the engine bay. It was hard to get things that slid back there.





















Just about finished taking out deck and foam. next step is removing outdrive, engine, gimball housing, trim pump, and fuel tank. Then take off the sundeck. I managed to remove the swim platform and I think this is the cause for my transom to rot as there are 4 holes there below the waterline. i don't think it is going back on just a ladder will be fine.

Well ever since I pulled out the motor and outdrive haven?t had a chance to get back to the boat the shop has been super busy. Working on a 1901 Packard for a reveal party on December 2nd.

Baylinerchuck Yes!!! this is my daily job. I am blessed that I get to do what I love ❤ everyday. Somehow I was blessed and I make a very good living restoring and keeping history alive. I just hauled in a new customer project in today for restoration, a 1902 2 cylinder Packard. This particular car is the last known example to exist anywhere.

kcassells Thank you. I catch a bunch of teasing since I left the muscle car scene about 25 years ago, and really started my main focus on these early cars. Truth be told there is a lot more money in these early cars!

Well again no boat work. Getting some more things ready for the Party on Saturday. I have the engine set up and in the frame now just waiting on a few copper tanks hoping they will be done tomorrow, I have the motor set up pretty much but i havent even tried to start it But.... hypothetically it should run, it has spark, it has compression, it will have fuel. I dont want to test start this because I want it to be authentic and I have advised my crew don't even try It behind my back so i put the car in an open spot where the security cam has it under surveillance. I sure hope she fires:lol: or I'm going to look like a fool in front of about 100 people. :bolt:
