Hi All,
I am just looking to get some opinions on the transom on my project boat. It appears that the previous owner chaged the transom board with a very ill fitting peice of wood. I have most accessories stripped off of it now. Should i spend a bit more time and try to tackle replacing this transom board? It feels solid when the motor was on (no flexing etc). Refer to attached photos.

Thanks!

Looks normal, if the wood is in good shape I don't see an issue.

Did you prod it with a screwdriver? If it feels solid, I'd keep it going for a couple more years! The transom can be replaced on it's own without massive dismantling of other parts of the boat :)

If you think the transom wood is supposed to uniformly fit the stern of the boat...It's not. I agree with ondarvr in that it looks fine to me. If it's not wet and not flexing...Go boating and enjoy!!!
