Replacing a disintegrating companionway moulding

Hi... I'm hoping that someone can give me some advise on how I might be able to repair or replace a piece of moulding that trims the companionway to the headliner in my 2001 Wellcraft Martinique 3300. I had to remove it to get above the headliner to repair a windshield wiper issue, and when removing it, it started to break apart. I have heard that there are moldings that I could buy that can be heat moldable but I am not able to locate anything that looks like it would work for me. I'm hoping you have some suggestions. I will add a picture of it in the next day or 2. Thank you.

Without a picture, it is very hard to give any informed recommendation. Hopefully, you took a before pic as well

Sorry for taking so long to post pics... hopefully someone out there knows what this material is and where I can find something to replace this with.
