Hello all,

First post and looking forward to all the resources abound in this forum. Starting to restore a cheap 15' aluminum I picked up on Craigslist and one of the things I was told was wrong was the power tilt trim motor needed replacing. Problem finding what I know is the proper one. Lots of googling only made me more confused. The motor is an 85 Johnson 50hp. It's a J50TLCOB. If someone could maybe post a link to the proper one would be much appreciated. Also looking at motor/brush repair kits? Any good? Any help would be life saving to this noob. Thanks in advance

You can get the OEM part number from the crowleymarine web site and search on it. It should find aftermarket and OEM replacements. ARCO makes many aftermarket PTT motors.

That is from Crowley and it only has pieces, not a complete motor.
