Man, if you have any more info on those, I'd love to hear about them. I have a 75 Glastron and would love to bring it out, even though it's not super vintage.

Heartland-classics has the Table Rock show in June and another event in Sept. Grand lake, I've never been, but would like to go. We attend a vintage camper/car show at Lake Pomona Ks is Aug. and understand they will add vintage boats this year. Those are the only events I know but hope to find more and something closer to K.C.

Pomona is only about an hour from my house, so we could make it to that for sure. I'll bookmark that link!

Progress continues..
The original boat trailer was a tilt trailer, I intended to restore it but kept finding frame cracks, then there was a title issue as I live in Missouri, the boat is from KS. Because the bill of sale was for the boat AND trailer, not two separate documents, BOS was null and void in our state (what was I thinking? Let's not even talk about the 1957 engine title Missouri must have. Anger) I plan to pull the boat behind a vintage car across a couple states and wanted a little more peace of mind, so I found a late 80's trailer to replace it. I bought a galvanized Escort trailer for a larger boat, it was cheap but strong and the design was easy to shorten by a couple feet and relocate the rear axle assembly. Additionally the wider width gives stability and let me add wood decking to each side so anyone who wanted to look at the boat wouldn't be standing on my fenders or fasten down a couple vintage skis. Here's what happened: Shortened the trailer, added new fenders, hubs, hitch and wiring. To keep the theme I sand blasted and painted it twotone, used 50's Pontiac tail lights and bolted on some older chrome reverse wheels I had around. Hopefully adding new bias plys soon.

That is too cool! I must say I do have a bit of shop envy!

Coming Unglued.
I found a great inexpensive flooring product I love.
When I bought it they said to use this water based contact environmentally friendly can of crap, followed directions to the letter, even heated the garage and it failed.
I used good old toxic industrial rubber cement in the rear, worked perfect, stuck and isn't going anywhere. Guess which I'll use to glue the carpet to the sides?

Yep, sometimes I hate new and improved.

Environmentally friendly usually means you pay twice as much for something that works half as well. I guess in your case less than half......

Fixed my flooring issue, hopefully can install the side carpet this weekend.
Also very excited about the upholstery, I've struggled because this boat never would have had an full expensive interior with deep seating like a Chris Craft, this was an affordable kit boat. I see boats like this (or manufactured.. YellowJacket) would have used cushions, but I do want a little more style and something that fits the theme, hence the side carpet and flooring. I found Nauti-Upholstery out of Fl. on ebay, his cushions looks like a perfect solution and fit the style. He sent me pics of a similar metal boat that look nice. I believe I'm on the right path.

The women need to wear capri's, sleeveless button ups, scarves on their heads with cat sunglasses and the guys wear kahki shorts and plaid short sleeve button up shirts with aviator glasses. to complete the look

Thank you. thats the plan, I thought of a two-tone insert similar to a 50's car, but think it was too over the top for the basics of this one.

All the side carpet was installed over the weekend and I finished the control unit last night. The control cables were 12-18" too long so I cut them for a better fit, it was easier than I thought. I believe I have all parts needed being shipped and have a long list of small install items and details to do.

Two more things checked off the list: I needed a transom saver, I did a little fabrication since the trailer was modified.
I welded a couple angle brackets to the frame rails and added cross bar that easily removes with a couple quick pins. Seems solid. IMG_8536.jpg IMG_8535.jpg

When I purchased the boat there was a ski bar to clear the outboard, at first glance I assumed it was a 1980's part and almost tossed in a dumpster on the way home. Good thing I didn't! After some inspection realized it was mounted on the boat when built and still had the holes and mounting brackets. I spun up the polisher this weekend and after a few hours had it back to new.
