Have an old 15ft Caravelle, who knows what model, believe it's a 71. Would like to see if it's possible to remove the whole thing and just put a small console in. Looks to be a 2 part. Outer cover and lower livewell part with tge drain going to the bottom hull. Drain is about 1inch long. Any suggestions if this is possible without hurting the structural integrity of the boat?

Nothing structural with the old LW/console or the one pictured in the 3rd pic. Rip it out and make sure the fill/drains are plugged. Go for it!

Thanks, what would be the best way to plug it? Looks like I need to remove the fitting to get it out.

Remove the LW/CC first and let's see what's underneath. Probably something simple can close off the thru-hull.

Been a bit, here's what i have so far. Looks like a new deck needed, stringers. The aft part, the transom what replaced 2 years ago with pressure treated sandwiched Plywood (professional). Think I'm still giing to remove all the way back and check. Weird there is a stringer on one side but not the other. What's a good woid to use? Obviously it's not a trailer queen.

One more question, what would be a decent estimate on how much resin? The floor is 4ft wide by 11ft long. Looks to be a stringer in the middle 1x4x11ft long, one on the port side 1x2x6ft long. The starboard would be the same as port. Got to add up $$ vs worth it.

Okay, here's a plan I'm trying to come up with after lots of iboat searchs.

1. Exterior plywood 3/4", 2 sandwiched, coated with epoxy
2. Peanut butter in and build up.
3. 1700 for stringer, 2 layers on side extending on hull more on second layer, then 1 layer on top of stringer
4. Coat underside of 1/2" plywood for deck with epoxy resin, then install, screw in then fill screw holes with peanut butter, then wet with resin and put 2 layers of 1700 on deck.

How does this sound? Should I do thing differently?

Thanks,
