Hello, My name is Dan Fisher. I love the era of the 60's where cars and boats had lines and designers could really show off their visions of the future. I am the owner of a '69 beetle convertible, 1970 Wooster hellion small boat and as of 2 weeks ago this rare '68 Gt-160. My search for this boat started when I stumbled across the forum of Cordell Longtine (Corjen1) and his beautifully restored blue GT-160. His details into his restoration were in depth and I read all the pages. What a wonderful job. Well searching the internet I came across this beauty just south of Seattle. Being from the province of Alberta up in Canada I decided to take the solo trip and drive 2200 miles round trip one weekend. I could not be more pleased with what I got. .

To the iboat moderators; I am new to the forum and the posting of pictures. Could you please add a tag of 1968 GT-160 to my 2 posts so they can be searched properly in the future.

Good looking! You are lucky that the windshield is in great shape. I'm sure finding a replacement windshield would be almost impossible. What items need repair?

Love the older boats. That one definitely has flash. What color interior? white tuck and roll?

Hey jbcurt00, I can see your tag on the first post...did you also tag the second ?

No, just the 1. I made the edit saved it and I guess the server probably lagged because it wasnt visible for a while. I waited a bit and reloaded the topic, still no tag.

But its visible now. Thanks

What an awesomely unusual boat! Very cool.

I added to the title when i saw the tag request. A complete title works better anyway for every post in the thread. Tags are for a post, as only the first post is showing the tag now.

Proshadetree, I don't know much about the interior, The previous owner took it out leaving me a clean slate to work with.

Over the weekend I decided upon the new engine transplant for this boat. It will be a 1990 Johnson 115 HP that has less than a 100 hours on the motor. This will replace the original 1967 Evinrude 80HP

Well that's certainly a MUCH better motor, unfortunately not nearly as cool looking.

What a cool looking boat.....kinda resembles a P51 Mustang. I have to say that original motor looks super cool on the back of that boat. The 115 will make it zoom-zoom. Hopefully you keep the original motor in case you ever want to make it original again. Following along.

Dito on the cool factor, but i dont blame you for the update. Are you going to put the original for nostalgia? Cant wait to see what you do inside it.
