79 glastron gt150 ( thought it was a banshee that someone just put a glastron badge on hense my name) with a Mercury 115 and rotten transom and more than likely stringers. Floor is solid but I suspect someone just put wood over old floor. Not for sure yet it. Got the engine off today and tryed to pull the cap but have to look closer at it to see where the transom is glassed at. From looking at the rear of boat I thought it wasn't glassed but when trying to lift it you cloud tell it was so once I get it cut I'll have to get a couple guys over to lift it off and start really tearing into it. Any ways here's some pics of my progress so far. May not get back to it till next weekend but will update any progress as it happens.

Got the cap loose this morning. Just waiting on my son and uncle to get here after work to help me get it off and over to the shed that I'm going to store it in. More to show tonight once it's off

Ya I was thinking of the 2x4 idea but useing the rub rail holes to screw 2x4 tight. I wasn't to worried about it right now. I thought it would be more at the time of cutting new boards and Fiberglass time or should I do it now before I cut anything

Thats exactly what I did. I would do it right away....funny how life will get in the way of boat plans...next thing you know its months later.

How many would you suggest 1 or 2. It's not a very big boat it's only 15 feet long. I was thinking one right in the middle

Your call, agreed, it is only 15 ft..., but if the side spread spread, what a PIA!! I would do 3. IMHO.

Ok corjen. I did take 3 different measurements from back to front before I pulled the cap so I guess I could do a board at each one. Thanks for your advice

Hey everyone made some progress on the glastron today. Started by cutting out the foam boxes at the rear and the foam was soaked 3/4 of the way up no water in the boxes but the foam was water logged pretty bad. Started on the floor area by the bilage and that was pretty rotten. Pulled that up and out of the way tipped the boat up and about 2in of water came to the back. I had kind of figured there was water in it I could hear it slushing around when I moved it in and out of the garage. The foam under the floor is water logged pretty bad as well if I push on it water comes out lol. Started to cut the transom out of it and managed to get it out in one peice its full of water as well. Cleaned up and vacuumed up the back end and was going to call it a day but couldn't help myself just wondering what was to come under the floor so started cutting the floor out. Got up to the ski locker and was going to call it a day but still couldn't help myself and really wanted to get the floor up so started cutting and prying on the locker got it out of the way and finished cutting the floor. Managed to wiggle the floor out in one piece as well but it's water logged as well. But good news is I got all the templates I need to put it back together. Called it a day after that. Here's some pics of my progress
