I own a 1995 Four Winns Horizon 190. The motor cover is constructed of plywood, and it is falling apart. See photos.
I have removed the vinyl covering, and plan to replace/rebuild.
I am hoping that I cam repair/rebuild the motor cover -- my prior experience with this type of repair is non-existent! And, advice would be greatly appreciated.
My questions are:
Is this simply a matter of duplicating the cover with new plywood (and then refastening the vinyl with a staple gun)?
Any special type/grade of plywood? I assumed weather treated.
The top and sides of the original motor were joined along the edges -- any reason why I couldn't/shouldn't use a strip of 1x1 to support the joints? See photos.
Any other pointers/observations?
Thanks in advance!
