Push Nut for Fuel Sending Unit

Does anyone know what size push nut retains the float on the moeller fuel gauge units? Or where to buy parts?

Take it to your local hardware store, you will find plenty of sizes ODs & ID to try.

I wouldn't buy/fix this model if I were you. They make a much better model now with a sliding element that slides up and down a tube. You dont have to worry about getting the geometry of the float right. All you need to do is to measure the depth of your tank before you go buy it. They come in different lengths

If it turns up being faulty I'll take your advice. I might grind a groove and safety wire the end if need be. I tried the local hardware store but the closest I could find snapped on me cause it was cheap steel. I don't want it to rust out on me. I'd be better off upgrading like you said
