Hey gang,
This is probably a simply answer for most but, I don't have any gelcoat repair experience. I was changing out the seawater valve and inlet strainer and I noticed that the gelcoat is chipped away under the strainer showing the fiberglass. What is the best way to repair it before I put the strainer back in?

I'd use a chisel and knock off all the small loose gelcoat pieces still remaining. Then sand as best you can with 60 grit and wash down with acetone. Then Mix up some Gelcoat Paste. (Gelcoat mixed with Cabosil) till it's thick like creamy peanut butter. Spread it out with a Bondo Spreader or Plastic Putty knife. In a couple of hours you'll be good to go.
