Re cored gunnel and and having a tuff time Finishing it off . Are there any tricks to using epoxy over head ? I can't seem to get it to tack and stick and making a mess . I'm using west system slow hardener . the repair is solid but I would like to make it look good . I recorded it with 1/2 ply and is very solid . It's dosent wet out like polyester resin maybe I should have used that instead . http://smg.photobucket.com/user/jdgt...ge_8.jpeg.html

One of the issues with epoxy is that in applications like this it's much harder to use than polyester, especially with slow hardener. Thicken the epoxy with silica and then let the mixed epoxy sit in the container for a while before using it. This lets it hang better, plus shorten the time before it begins to cure after being put in place.
