So, I bought a 1987 eagle seebold last year the boat had been sitting for a couple years all covered but...was still sitting outside, when I first uncovered the boat it was dirty to be expected, got In and started looking things over. The one back seat bottom was rotted and there was a little soft spot in the back corner of the floor didn't think it was too bad.. so we used it for a season and more and more of the rott was starting to show so this spring here I decided to pull the rotted back seat out so I could take people out and have seating again lol. When. I pulled that out......... it was like wet card board under that seat so we will start the project there. Here's a few pics from last season .

So first I figured since I took the back seat out might as well go get some wood and start doing things. So headed out and picked up a few sheets of 3/4" ( Marine plywood. (Boy you better sit down when you ring up that bill) and built the back seat.

OldTimers3.jpg Just and FYI, You don't have to use MG plywood. In Fact most people DON'T. AC Fir Plywood will work just fine IF you seal it well. Here's what I use when I do upholstery work on boats.

My seat bases last for decades with NO ROT. LOT's cheaper than MG!!!
