ok so over the winter the ceiling separated and has started to fall in my hammond. the previous owner had removed all the original fur like covering . so it would appear maybe water got in between the layers and has caused then to separate. I was thinking to just cut loose the inside layer and bond my new interior covering to what would be the bottom side of deck . I will include pics of damage and I'm looking for suggestions.

I'll be watching the responses you get closely. Mine isn't sagging like that (yet) but it's damp when it rains, looks nasty and smells moldy. Hopefully, someone like Friscoboater has done a complete how-to write up with lots of pictures.

I'd clean it off, find out if / where its leaking, repair any problems with it out of the way.

Then find either a sound proofing or insulation to keep heat out. Use spray on adhesive.

Is it leaking around the hatch?

That look like the same spray on foam that is on my sides under the gunwales

Good Luck

the hatch is missing and my orginal way I covered it for winter was not very good I think this is why it got wet inside
