I'm finishing up my Alumacraft FD transom repair and have run into some things I need answers for..

Do I need to sealant between the boat and rear outside transom wood or around the edges?

Can I just mount the front main Transom with out putting cork behind it like it originally had?

What epoxy/sealant should I use to seal around bolts that I'm using to mount through wood transom to help keep out water?

Any advice is welcomed before I just go bolting it on and go boating!

No need for sealant between the wood just around all the fasteners. 3M 4200 or 3M 5200 is the sealant of choice. No idea why cork was added between it either. Just be sure to seal up the plywood real well to keep the water out.

No Title

Already took care of the port plash tray. It's was bolted together, I replaced the bolts.

I built the front transom to wide and it has no space between splash well floor, oh well. Wont last very long.
It looks good for now and I just want it to last through the summer. I got 4 coats of Spar on transom wood,
should seal out the water for a year or more.

I guess I'm gong to add some sheet metal or something to protect wood from the engine mounts and call it done!
