What sealant to use between engine firewall and gas tank?

I am adding transom washdown system to my sea Ray Express Cruiser 215 and had to bring a hole in the firewall between the gas tank and the engine compartment to run the water line. What type of sealant should I use to seal around the hose and the hole? From the other holes, it looks silver and hardened.

I would recommend 3M 4000 or 5200
