Starcraft Fishmaster 190 REDO

Brought a 97 Starcraft 190 that was heading to scrap yard. It was fished heavily for 18 years. I never build a boat before but was willing to throw some time and energy at the project

The hull was pretty good shape but had some docking debts and rashes. The carpet and vinyl was worn. 1inch of additional plywood was added to the floor. I suspected the stringers were shot.

Trailer was in good shape but has rust everywhere

Good news! Your stringers aren't shot unless something melted the aluminum stringers. A PO took the easy out by adding needless weight by adding plywood over a soft deck. The deck supports are are more box-like than the rib/stringer arrangement in older Starcrafts.

1" is awfully thick and heavy to cover a soft deck.

Day 8 - i have to make progress getting the foam out. There are gallons and gallons of rotted water soak foam

Day 8 - i am going to redesign the transom to a fishmaster 196 deaign. This wil add 20 to 24 inches of deck space. I will be able to net fish so much easier
