Hello to all,
I tried to locate the answer I need on a soft spot about 8in x 8in under my passenger side seat. After looking around I could not find an answer for the liner thats over the fiberglass floor either. Transom is good but the person that had boat before me stored it outside with tarp for a year. Tarp ripped over pass seat area.
What is this liner? Vinyl?
Should I refiberglass such a small spot in the floor?
If this pic will show up please look at the crack in the floor also as its on pass side as well. I buffed out entire boat, got motor purring and pulled out seats to clean when I found this.

Welcome to iBoats!

Why do you think there's a liner over the floor? What have you done to ensure the transom is good to go?

Hello woodonglass,
I drilled 2 holes in transom about 6 inches from bottom and pulled on motor back n forth fairly hard. I got shavings that also suprised me as they looked pretty good.
The fiberglass floor has a sheet over it that seems to go through to bow.

Seems like like a jungle of mold n mildew between the sheet and fiberglass floor. No holes or soft spots in the rest of floors. Its solid and kinda havin a hard time believing it.

Yeah, Is saw those and that just appears to be the normal fiberglassing on a normal boat deck. You should do a thorough check of every nook and cranny for any soft spots and if none are found you may be good to go as far as the deck's concerned. You should also core sample the Transom

Core sample? As in cut a plug from the center to see inside all layers?
There is a soft spot under passenger seat about 8 x 8 inches. Thats the only spot.
I was just going to glass it in that area.

Typically, in boats of this vintage, a soft spot in the deck means there are problems below. Stringers and transoms can/will develop rotten wood issues due to water having gotten below the deck and penetrated the wood. You would do well to investigate this possibility. The stringers and Transom are critical structural elements of the boat and if they are compromised, the boats safety is in question.;)
