Force 120 Suts off during gear change

After running a bit and I come to the dock or anchoring spot the engine will shut down when shifting to reverse. Also it will not idle for very long. It may idle a minuite at most with idling up the engine. I have tried adjusting the carbs as much as I know to. I have tried setting the idle speed up. Either I do not have it high enough or it the same thing still happens. I do not have a tach at this time. So I am not sure what the idle speed is, but it seems fast enough. Any Ideas on this.

Force 120.What year???Put a tach in the system.Or get the tools needed.You need to set the air screws and make sure the compression and spark is good.RPM should be 700-800 at idle in gear.
If you have ADJUSTED anything you might have made it worse.
The only thing you should have messed with is the idle.J
