1988-1991 50 hp Force used an NGK BUHX or a Champion UL18V

Came stock with L-82C With the electrode sticking out.
You have Prestolite Ignition.Use what the factory calls for.
Some people substitute the permagap plugs. They come stock on the bigger 85/125 motors.
The wrong (HOTTER)plug along with too lean a setting on the carb might melt a hole but not likley.

There is no way the right plug is gonna hurt the piston.
Some plugs are longer and can(maybe)hit the piston.
    Again not likley.
IF YOUR OUTBOARD DOESN"T START WITHING A FEW SECONDS THEN SOMETHING"S WRONG!!!!

boats . net is NOT the place to buy parts. They managed to screw up my last 4 orders.
NO communication,NO follow through. Incompetent staff.Nuff said!

Buy American made Cars and Trucks!!!Towing insurance for a boat,a GREAT thing.

If you fix your problem,do the rest of the posters a favor and send in one more post telling who, what, how it was fixed.J

    Catfish:

    A 507y9b is not a 507y8d
