Is this A Basic Rule Of Thumbs Wiring Diagram for 70’s Chrysler/Force 35 HP – 55 HP? The link marked it as a mag sys, why is a stator showing? I feel Mags were gone by 1980??

Chrysler had different 35 and 55Hp engines during 60-70´s. The 45Hp was the same all the time.
35Hp (old one) was from 1965-75, in 76 it was design as the 25, 30Hp that was introduced in 1973. This old 35Hp only had the magneto ign.system.
45Hp had three different ign. system. Magneto (same as 35 and 55Hp), battery ign. with alternator (same as 55Hp) and the MagnaPower ign. with points (same as 55Hp).
55Hp (old style) was from 1967-76, in 77 the 60Hp dual carb engine was rated as 55 and 65Hp. The old style 55Hp had the same ign.system as the 45Hp. Magneto, battery and MagnaPower.
For my self, I have never seen an 45Hp with MagnaPower but the other typ of ign. I have seen.

Thanks Nordin! My only personal experience is my 1970 35 HP Chrysler. It has a mag system. The “ignition switch wiring which I missed as my point”, is what I had ref to as “A Rule Of Thumbs” with the 70s Chrysler/Force.

The wiring you show is the battery typ. If you have magneto you have the ign.,coils under the flywheel. For the ign.switch it is as follow. Red-B, green-C, yellow-S, blue-M and white-M. If you send me a private mail I can send you a wiringdiagram as a pdf file.

Thanks for the offer. I am wired good and have a Clymer manual. I wondered if this was a Rule Of Thumbs on wiring a switch on Chrysler/Force 35 – 55 HP (that I found in a search). Nor have I compared it to my 1970 35 HP Chrysler. I originally posted this in a post below where the engine could be started w/o the switch but not with the switch.
