99 force 40hp exhaust snout

i had bought a new hustler prop for my boat and the instructions said that i needed to install force exhaust snout #f744116 before using prop so i bought the part but have no idea where it goes and wondering if anyone has ever installed one before, i do have a service manual.

The exuast snout is the piece that bolts-on uinder the cavitation plate on the lower unit, just above the prop. It doubles as an anode. That is, it is designed to be "eaten" by electrolosys,instead of other parts of your motor.They probably want you to change it so the prop don't hit it?Anyhow, it may be quite difficult to remove the old one, as it may be half-eaten allready.
