Default 98 120hp force sometimes dies going in reverse

For some reason i didn't look at the rpms @ idle in water. So thats unknown at this point. Idle rpms with muffs on is around 850. Manual says 750 is idle in water. Does anyone know what idle should be with muffs on? or why im dieing sometimes when I give it just little gas in reverse?

-WOT- is around 4800-another problem i have
    - plugs have been replaced less then 10 hours on them
    - fuel pump less then 10 hours

-does crank right back up after dies though every time
