77 Chrysler 55hp How does reverse throttle work?

Last time out the boat was operation normally but then the cobbled together throttle cable let go. I purchased a new one and now I can't get reverse. I can't figure out how the throttle works in reverse as the throttle cable gives it gas in forward but nothing operates the carb linkage in reverse. How does this thing work?

103_6276.jpgAre you using a Chrysler control box or a different one? If Chrysler, the photo shows how the control arms should be set.

Wow! I had it set up with both arms in the same direction and there was no way I could see the throttle working in reverse, Thank you I will try this
