hi. i am looking to buy a 1992 bayliner with a 70 hp force motor. i would like some input on the motor as i already own a chrysler motor and can't have it repaired as there are no parts available. i was ready to purchase the boat when i found out that chrysler was the original builder of force but is now owned by merc. can anyone give me some insite.
would appreciate it.
First off, you can get parts to repair your Chrysler. Pistons are still available from aftermarket sources ( I prefer Wiseco) and other parts can be had at firstname.lastname@example.org. Or, Go` to The Chrysler Crew and ask there.
Secondly, the 70 and 75 by Mercury are different than most other Force engines. Many parts are not swappable with other three cylinder engines. There is nothing wrong with the engines per-se, but personally, I don't care for them.
