Ok heres the deal I am new to boats so I’ll take all the help I can get I bought an 89 bay liner with a 125ld9b L drive. When I purchased the boat it exhaust bellows was off and I was told it needs a new one. (clue #1 in hind sight) so I bought one tuned up the engine new plugs, impeller, t stat and new exhaust hoses that were crispy (clue # 2) so I get it all together start it up in the driveway had good water flow from the transom but just a mist out of the actual exhaust. call the local bayliner dealer (the ones that wont work on these engines and they said it was because it was at idol and I should take it to the lake run it in the water on the trailer and make sure it didn't get hot witch I did and the head stayed cool to the touch but the exhaust was getting hot I figured it is exhaust it should get hot right lol wrong ended up cooking all the hoses again. so I went on the merc parts page and it seems some one hooked up the hoses for the water like a 1990 l drive with no water dumping in to the exhaust manifold like the picture for the 1989 shows.

Does any one have an 89B?
If so is there a water hose coming from under the head on the left side of the engine that dumps in to the exhaust?
Which hose plugs in to the transom exhaust plate?
Maybe e mail me some pcitures
