    Default 1987 force outoard engine 125

    Hey,
    I just bought a boat which has a 1987 force outboard engine. and i have some problems. 1st. i cand find the place that i check the oil. 2nd. i putted on reverse and it started makeing a bad noise. 3rd. i how much is the normal commpressions. enyone plz help. thank you

    There is a hex-head screw on the bottom of the drive.That drains the oil.To check there are two screws about 18-24 inches up the leg. They are marked fill/vent. Pull the bottom and see what your oil looks like.
    If it's making a bad noise you probably need a rebuild.
    The compression on a good guage should be 145-150. They should read 5-10# difference on all 3 cylinders. Any more and that means you need to work on that motor.Jerry

    You really need to get a manual...and DO NOT take out that Phillips head screw on the side of the gearcase.
    I suggust putting down all tools until you get a manual..

    and would you know whats wrong withh my engine? it goes fast then slows down then takes off again

    and one more question. what kind of fuel goes in force 125? 87 or 91

    Fuel is 50:1 gas oil mix.... 2 cycle engine oil is used...

    The fast slow fast sounds like fuel pump needing cleaned or rebuilt...anlong with maybe the carbs..
