    Default 1987 force modle 507y7c 50 hp

    it has 2 coils motor will start but only runs on top cyc bottom plug wont fire i can take plug wire off and hold it while motor is running on top cyc no spark is there a way to chect coil to see if that is what it is thanks ed

    Welcome to iboats edgor17.

    THe easiest way is to remove the 2 coils and swap their positions.
    Then start and see if the "no spark" condition is now on the other cylinder.

    Did the problem follow the coil?

    Make sure the mark the coils so you can tell them apart.

    Would also help to label all the wires, and take a digital photo so you can use it as a reference.
