Default 1987 Force 125 Water Pump

I have a 1987 Force 125hp 1258v7b. Have never had any problems with this motor for the 12 years I've had it. Took it out for the first time this year and noticed that there was very little water coming out of the two holes in the back. Shut the engine down before it got too hot and carried it home to replace the water pump impeller. Called the local marine shop and he had to order on for me but he said the old one was still alright to use if i just flipped it over to use in the meantime. I also installed a "telltale" while I was working on it. Took it back to the river and upon starting it up I got hardly any water out of the 'telltale'. If I put the motor in "cold start'' I can get a pretty good stream out of it but as soon as I put it back I neutral I get nothing. I ordered the impeller and the gasket for the water pump, am I in the right direction or will the whole water pump need to be replaced. I thought since the water pump was pumping some warer that it was still in working order and didn't want to order a whole new unit if I didn't need it. Any help would help. THANKS

The IDIOT that told U to flip it should stick it.A used impeller is a USED impeller.Never re-use an old one.The old housing is probably good post some pics.J

Thanks, and your right. It was wore down enough that the vaines didn't have any bend in them. I'll just wait till the new parts come in.
