I have a 1987 Bayliner with a Force 125. I just had the carbs rebuilt and everything seemed to be working fine. Ran it at the lake got it up to about 4000 rpms for about three minutes then felt it pull down and quit. When i went to crank it the battery would barely turn the motor and the overheat buzzer was going but he motor didn't appear to be running hot. Could the thermostat switch be shorting out and causing the battery to run down? Any suggestions.
