1987 85 hp force new owner (question)

I built a stand for this motor and have never hooked up a outboard to run on a stand. I bought it as is not running I want to go through it check compression, ec and see if I can get it running how does a guy do this to fire it. all the wiring is hooked up getting a barrel today

sorry my question is the ground wire is not hooked up can't see a place for a ground do I just ground to the power head off the battery?

the place for the ground cable from the battery is located under the starter theres a threaded hole there to bolt it to good luck don

are any parts off a 92 150 hp force interchangeable to a 87 85 hp force like the power trim? lower unit? coils? stator? picked up a 92 that has a bad modulal or brain the guy said it will run but sometimes will not whats it worth parted out? like lower unit,powerhead, etc. this guy just wanted to get rid of it so I figured it was worth something for parts he had it check out at a marine shop everything else checked out fine comp, lower unit carbs etc.
