I'm needing a new prop and I want to get the best all around performance out of my boat.
The boat is a 1994 manta ray 189 sport with a mercruiser 4.3LX/alpha one.
It currently has a 3 blade aluminum 19 pitch.
I'm new to this size boat and new to the importance of prop selection so I want to get it right the first time.
I'm not looking to spend more than $200 if at all possible, but I do understand if I must, I will.

Looking to see if I am running the correct prop on my boat, right now it has a 13-1/8 16p stainless prop and with the boat loaded to fish it takes 2 to 2-1/.2 boat lengths to get on plane and has a top speed of about 34mph at 6200rpm WOT. To me it seems hard to plane out and kinda slow at speed but I am new to larger boats having only owned small jons in the past.

I have an at risk teen I'm mentoring on the weekends. This kid is wanting to use my 85hp prop to go on his 25hp. I'm pretty sure it wont work. He seems to think he can get it to fit. I don't want the kid to waist his time. We're restoring an old Larsen Lapline and the transom needs some timely TLC.

I bought a little 2 hp Clinton Outboard when I was a kid (model number k-201) and destroyed the propeller years ago. I'm cleaning out my garage and found it hidden away. Is there any chance that I could get a replacement propeller for this little motor? Appreciate the help in advance.

I currently have a 2005 Sun Tracker Party Hut pontoon 30ft with a 115hp efi four stroke. The 4 stroke does fine but is very slow. Cruise is around 10mph. It has a 3 blade prop maxing out around 4600 rpm wot. I am thinking of increasing the pitch but going to a 5 blade mercury high five ss. The factory prop is aluminum. Any thoughts?

I don't seem to have enough power from my 4.3L Mercruiser 2002 Monterey Edge 180. I can get up on 2 skis but not 1. This boat is new to me and it seems to take too long to plane. When it's trying to pull me up on 1 ski it never came to plane and I was never able to fully get up on the water(only the driver was in the boat). It doesn't have those trim tabs on it. I only weight 175lbs so I believe I should be able to get up on a single ski with this boat. Without towing anything it tops out at about 50mph and the engine sounds good. We played with the trim but wasn't able to improve it enough to get me out of the water. Any suggestions would be great.

I have a 2003 bayliner 175. How do I know if it is a left or right turning prop.

I am fairly well at doing my research into things before giving up, but ive hit a brick wall this time and will try to give all the details i can that may be helpful.

Started a project restoration last year. Bought a used and neglected 1994 Chaparral deckboat( former saltwater boat, now only freshwater lake boat). solid boat, needed some mechanical and cosmetic TLC, but overall, a nice project and what i needed. it had a Mercruiser 305 lx, and alpha one outdrive. after running it twice, realized it was failing, had it checked by my mechanic. cracked block. had a new Rapido Marine 5.7 longblock but into place. heres where im lost. max RPM 3800-4000. gps 33mph. did 38 with the cracked 305 :facepalm: i know there is more life in this engine, so is it the prop?

3400-3500lbs dry
Mercruiser 5.7 350ci lx
Mercruiser alpha one ( tags say its correct with 1.50r gearing).
New fuel pump, lines serviced.
carb rebuilt.
new ignition.
outdrive fully serviced, new impeller, fluids, and new gimbal bearing.
everything gone through and serviced.
Unknown prop brand. Its stainless steel stamped Turbo 14 1/4 x 17p

This boat is hard to get on plane, takes a few attempts with only me and the wife and less than 50lbs of gear, and half tank of fuel. Engine fires on first crank, smooth as silk running/idleing/revving, no missfires or sputters.
This boat will be used for cruising/fishing 80% of the time but do accasionally like to pull tubes and maybe skis in the future.

I have a 1983 boat with a 488 engine. I recently talked to someone with the same boat and motor (century 5 meter) they said their boat did 53 and had a ticket to prove it. My boat will only do 47. I have changed plugs, done a compression test everythings fine. My boat runs good and hits the top of the rpm range even full of people. It runs really good no antifreeze cam seal leaks all plugs come out the same greyish light brown. I dont think the temp has ever even hit 160 f. Just can't think of anything else that would cause my boat to be that much slower than the same model. Would a stainless prop or ingitor halls effect ignition make that much of a difference? I have even weighed my boat to see if it was heavier than advertised weight which it is not. It seems like something stupid to worry about but makes me think there is something wrong. I don't know the prop setup used to hit 53

Hey all. We cant retrieve any #'s off the old set of props and looking to get some suggestions on correct prop size for our setup. Here's what we've got:

1985 25' Cat Limbo
Marine Power carbed Vortec 350, ~315hp, 4600-5000rpm WOT rating
Volvo Penta 290DP - I believe this is 1.95:1

I've been looking at the VP Duoprop charts and a bit confused. Also not exactly sure of the Cat Limbo's weight so I'm hoping someone would take an educated guess at which set of aluminum props would put us into that proper WOT RPM range - B3, B4, B5?

All markings are wore off on my current prop and I'd like to get another for spare.
I suppose I should take it into a shop to have it measured but...
Would like to hear what folks here would suggest for a prop before I do.
If I can trust the built in tach WOT is about 5400 with current prop.

I'm pushing a 24' Pontoon boat with this engine and I want to insure I've got the best prop to help this little motor push this big boat. The current prop is a 386669 10x5. Is that a 10 pitch prop or a 5 pitch? I don't know how to make sense of the numbers.
