Question being: If I installed one anyway, and there happens to be an existing galvanic isolator from the factory, will it cause any issues?

Hello Everyone,

Here’s the series of events. We launched our boat for the season last Saturday with about an 1/8 tank of gas (no problems). Stopped and got $100 in fuel at the marina and headed out the channel (no problems).

As soon as we cleared the channel on a heading for South Bass Island I hit the trim and the boat just stopped died. I switched from battery one to two and it started back up and we were under way again however, the tachometer is not working and the gas gauge needle is jumping sharply from empty to full back to empty then to a quarter and so forth.

Here’s what I know and don’t know. When I left the marina the gas gauge worked fine before and after refueling. What I don’t know is if the tach gauge was working. At no wake speed it would not have registered much if anything.

Additionally, the marina had just installed two new batteries sometime before launching. The next day I idled the boat for an hour to recharge battery one which it failed to do. Bad battery?

Also the next day the gas gauge is not jumping nearly as much but it is still jumping and I believe showing and inaccurate gas level of slightly less than ¼ tank of gas when it should be closer to ½ tank.

I double checked all the circuit breakers and none where tripped. I got under the helm to check for corroded leads on the tach meter but didn’t see anything. I am not sure if the tach has a separate in-line fuse.

Hurricane SD217, Yamaha 200

If anyone has any ideas as to what happened or what’s going on it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Paul Bolden

The other day I noticed my stern all-around light wasn't working and sure enough found the ground wire had just corroded to the point of falling of the base. So bad I am just ordering a new base. However, I also noticed my radio and depthfinder were not working as well. Please tell me that the broken circuit (disconnected wire) is causing the other issues. I have ordered a new base and hopefully when I rewire it, not only will it be fixed but my radio and depth finder will also work.

I was just docking in my Bentley pontoon with navigation lights, docking lights, and interior lights all working. I went to turn off docking lights and lost power to all lights. Even the power to the radio has been lost. Is there a fuse panel on the 2006 Bentley 200 Cruise I can check for a blown fuse. I can not find a fuse Panel. There are four reset buttons on the accessory panel but nothing seems to happen or reset when I push them. Any help on how to troubleshoot this problem is appreciated. We did have a heavy rainstorm last night so something may have gotten damp.

The problem is I can not find any of the same length. 1 1/8 is approx. 28.5 mm and all I can find is 31 mm. It seems as if the perko fixtures are a proprietary size. My question is, where on the transom is the best place to mount the transducer. I've read centered and I've read a foot to starboard from center. I'm going to be adhering a piece of King Starboard first so i don't have to drill the transom, then screw the transducer to it. Thanks in advance for the help.
