<div>This is a crazy story I want to share. Last week I went to the SC coast with the wife and one of her friends. On the second night her friend realized she needed a refill on a medication and the wife asked me to go get it. I didnt know the area and told her to give me some solid directions to the drug store chain she uses. Wife said no problem she would just program our new GPS to the store . BIG MISTAKE ..She programmed it while inside and I took it and plugged it into the car. I don't know what happened but it didn't send me to the drug store but to some golf course 12 miles south of where I needed to go. I tried to reprogram it using the address she gave me and headed north. Because it was bike week I was surrounded by dozens of loud harleys and then realized I couldnt even hear the GPS (wife for some reason had lowered the volume) The windows then started fogging up and because I was not use to driving her friends new car I didn't know how to turn on the defrost( a dangerious thing to do while running 60 mph in 3 lanes of traffic with loud motorcycles all around you) I quickly got lost again because I couldn't see out of the car well or hear the GPS and to make things worse the &quot;low gas&quot; light came on. It was then 10 minutes until the store would close so I just got some gas and went back to the beach condo.. I was very pissed off.....Needless to say the GPS was then put into a suitcase where the thing stayed until we got home....gez</div>

Diving with the ex-GF. Set the anchor just west of a (north-south running) channel. We were diving on some channel markers to get mussels. The wind was from the SE. Anchored in 6 metres of water (the channel depth was 15)... Got in the water and dropped down to about 5 metres where the mussels are the biggest. Spent no more than 10 minutes there. Come up, no boat! The wind had swung to the SW and the anchor slid off the side of the bank and wasn't long enough to reach the bottom. So up the channel she drifted. I told the GF to stay put and I'd come back and get her. I took off after the boat, drifting straight up the main shipping channel... As I'm swimming (in full SCUBA kit) I'm getting tired, but realise that to stop and have a breather would mean all the ground I had made so far would be lost.... A thought runs though my head.... What could be worst than swimming up a shipping channel, chasing a boat that is drifting only marginally slower than I'm swimming? The answer is... a ship coming up the channel. I look over my shoulder and what do I see? A ship coming up the channel. Not good. Now I absolutely must catch that boat! I power on, closing the gap ever so slowly. Eventually I get to within about 20 metres and the 'mermaid line' I always stream is within grasp. I glance over my shoulder to see where that ship is, and immediately wish I hadn't. I can count the rivets on his foremast! I grab the mermaid line and pull myself towards the boat as hard as I can. I making it to the boarding ladder and climb straight up, complete with tank and fins! I flick the fins off and dive to the engine key, hoping she catches first go... She did! I drop the gear lever forward and gently move out of the channel (remember the anchor line is still in the water). Once I'm out of the channel and the ship has streamed passed, I drop all my dive gear off, climb up the front and pull the anchor, then head back looking for the GF... She's just where I left her, patiently waiting for me, completely unaware of the drama that had occurred. When I told her, she just asked if anything ever happens like that in the future, can she have my car!!! <br />
<br />
Chris.......</div>

<div>me and a couple of buddies were fishing in an electric only lake (lake dow). we had my bass boat set up with a 50lb trolling motor on the back and a 50lb foot controled on the front. we had a good morning and had just got back to the boat ramp. i pulled the boat up to the shore to get the truck and as soon as we stoped the back trolling motor started smokeing. i turned it off the i noticed the wires from the motor to the battery were melting. i started to panic then because the battery was about 1ft away from my blackmax 150. then the wires caught on fire. i grabed the fire extingusher and put it out. next i look and see the post on the battery start melting. then it catches on fire. i put it out and the post are red by this time and melting the top of the battery so i toss the fire extingusher and grab the battery and was about to throw it in the water and it blew up. luckly i didnt get acid on my face some how and it only got on my clothes lol there shot now. so now im down a battery and a trolling motor. i will try and get some pics up of them when i get home.</div>
