My daughter finally decided that she wants to graduate from a knee board and learn to ski. She tried today for the first time but she was never able to stay up for more than a second or two. She's 15 and weighs 110 soaking wet, she's athletic in that she's a distance runner, but she's not the most coordinated person in the world.

We have a set of adult skis I picked up at a yard sale which have worked well for my son, but I'm wondering if they're too big for my daughter (I never had the chance to ski when I was a kid so my knowledge ends at "knees bent / arms straight").

Any other tips for getting her started?

Thanks.

Is there a minimum horsepower outboard motor or towing a skiier? I know it probably depends on the size of the boat, etc, but let's just say it's a 14' runabout for example..

Or are there some KINDS of outboards that are better for skiing?...

Anybody made a home made training boom? I have priced some and it is ridiculous how much they cost..... I work construction and feel confident I can build the same thing for under $50 and have it be totally safe. The biggest design question I have is how to attach the boom to the boat........ I will use 2 straps to the front to support the outboard portion of the boom, but want to attach the boom to the gunwhale in a way that is not permanent. Anybody got a design I could copy?

Thanks

Is the adjustable wing on a slalom ski fin supposed to tighten down so as to be immobile or should it be tight but adjustable without loosening the screws that hold it on?
