Do I need anything besides an in-line fuse near the battery and a dash switch? The wiper motor is 12v as is my boat battery. -Thanks --lewis

I have nav lights, horn, cd player, vhf radio, and bilge pump
JR. Putting wipers on plexiglass is a very bad idea. Use RainX instead.
If you are putting wipers on glass, well, never mind.
EDIT: If you use RainX, be sure it is the plastic-safe type or just wax heavily with auto wax.
Thanks but no thanks...Rain-X has a warning on the label not be used on plastics.
Thanks, I picked up Meguiars PlastX clear plastic cleaner and polish.
Ayuh,...Thanks but no thanks...Rain-X has a warning on the label not be used on plastics.
A wiper blade on a plastic windshield will scratch it So Bad in a season,...
You won't be able to see thru it....
Also,...
What TD is refering to above is,...
You Must use a dedicated Ground, all the way to the battery...
Otherwise, if you Ground thru the hull,...
It'll Disappear in No time from electrolysis...
Any Grease is Better,..... Than No Grease at All.......
Now that I've realized it's not a good idea to run a wiper on plexiglass, I'm basically just putting it on for looks('cause I cant get my $30 back...) However, I'm stubborn and I'll probably try to fabricate a custom wiper(wrapped in chamois cloth perhaps...hmmm?) and run it in emergencies only on a soaking wet windscreen pre-treated with Clear Plastic Cleaner and Polish!
If I end up scratching it...well, I won't say you guys didn't warn me. Wish me luck.
As for the "dedicated ground", does that mean I run a large gauge ground from the (-)bat. to the panel, then tie all my grounds to that? Or can I just run all the ground wires directly to (-)bat.? -Thanks in advance -Lewis

You can do it anyway you'd like,...
As long as the aluminum hull Isn't used to carry any Current...

ayuh, now I get it...thanks. My hull is fiberglass so no worries.
One more question while I'm thinkin', I have a new 8' VHF Antenna. I wanna make sure it doesn't turn out to be a lightning rod (I like having a wild time on the boat, but that's a little more than I'm comfortable with!).
It's a Shakespere end-fed model and the manual says the antenna requires no internal or external ground...but what about lightning. It's the tallest point on my craft, should I be worried?
