    Default Eagle FishFinders

I was reading a post on interference between two eagle finders of same frequency. My question is I have a Eagle 168 on the bow and Eagle FishElite 480 on the console if I have the console unit on just for mapping is it constantly "pinging" even if not using sonar features at the moment? And if so seams only solution would be to turn it off when using bow or get one with diff frequencies. Thanks

If it is set to mapping it does not ping. You may be able to use both in Shallow water if one of your transducer is on the transom and the other is on the trolling motor. We do it on a 19 foot down to about 30 feet, but if turn sensitivy way up then it is more like 20 feet.

Ok. where would you suggest sensitivity be set too if running both in fairly deep water? Really that is fine though only need the one for mapping really...once find where im going with it on sonar im not back there when fishing..its good for the person in the back though. but when by myself dont need both at same time so can just put back on mapping. Thanks

If you want to see most of the fish the sensitivity must be turned up until 1/4 of the screen is black in the zone where you are looking for fish. Set that way with the transducer 20 feet apart your good to about 20 feet deep.
