    Default Local gas price?

Gas prices seem to be on everyone's mind, so I want to do an informal poll.

What is gas going for at your local marina, as opposed to the highway station?

Here near my cottage in Gravenhurst, Ontario, the price of gas on the highway is $1.35 / Liter --> which translates to $5.04 USD / Gallon. The marina is selling for $1.58 / Liter --> $5.58 USD / Gallon.

$4/Gallon isn't so bad, after all, is it?

Here in Lodi California gas is about $4.49, at the marina this weekend it was a even $5. I dont think we will ever be below $4 again.

Gas is running $3.92 - $3.97 at the station and $5.75 to $6.50 depending on the marina and lake. Still makes sense to pull the boat out to gas up the 48gal tank.

Got down to $4.02 sunday morning then back to $4.14 Sunday night here in northern Indiana.

Took vacation last week, drove 2036 miles and the highest I saw was $4.29 down on the outer banks North Carolina but inland it was $4.02, low was $3.95 somewhere in Pennsylvania I think.

1.27/litre here and about 1.47 on the lake. I always fill up 5 gallon cans for my boat.

Between $3.75 and $3.90 per gallon in Memphis. No idea about the marinas.

Your #'s are off a bit. A gallon of gas is 3.78 liters @ $1.35/liter you are looking at $5.10/gallon and at $1.58/liter you are at $5.97/gallon.

Here in Yellowknife there are a couple of marinas but I know one doesn't have a fuel dock and I'm not sure of the other. Our in town gas price is $1.499/liter or $5.67/gallon

If you compare a gallon of gas to a gallon of martinis or a gallon of beer the gas is cheaper.

    !2 martinis 4oz. = 1 gallon x 7.00 average in lounge = $84.00 per gallon

    4 beers 12oz. = 1 gallon x 3.15 average in lounge = $12.60 per gallon

As you could see gas is cheap. Now I understand why I drive an SUV and do not worry about the gas.

    $ 3.97 per gallon here.

Since I have removable 6 gal outboard tanks, I don't use the marina. Here in Sault, MI it's $4.23

BTW, How's thing's in Lake Muskoka? That's a beautiful area!

Yeah, but I don't need 20 gallons of martinis every week to get to work.

Our cottage isn't on any of the big three lakes in Muskoka (Muskoka, Joseph, Rosseau) but I have been boating on them occasionally, and they are quite beautiful. Most people on those lakes are probably not even aware the price of gas changed!

$4.21 here in southern Indiana (Louisville,KY area). That's at the gas stations not the marinas.

wgoodhoofd and to all our friends to the north.

Actully your 1.35/liter=5.10 is probably in line or cheaper then the U.S. if you factor in your socialized medical cost in that liter/gallon. Here we get no incentive from the tax on fuel.

Sorry, I was wrong, we do get an incentive. We get unrepaired roads and infrastructure for our gas tax.

Over the 4th I paid $4.19 on the road in Fond du Lac & $4.35 in Winneconne on the water. That's for 93 octane.

I use the 93 in the boat because it's the only way I can get ethanol free gas any more. And that's only at a few stations. Everything else around here has quietly switched to 10% ethanol crap gas.

I'm sure! Lake Muskoka is not exactly the low rent district.
I used to go to Gravenhurst a lot. Our company used to own a plant on the lake near the boat launch. We moved the operation and sold the property, and now it's all built up--Can't even tell where our plant was!
