Looking for info 1967 or 1968 13'

My brother recently acquired a 1967 or 68 13' Whaler. We are trying to figure out the exact model (standard vs sport, etc). The stenciled number is 25439 which should indicate 1968, however the registration and seller indicated it is a 1967. From what I have read boats of this age didn't have a metal tag, however this one does...we're wondering if this may have been added by someone along the way. Mainly right now what we can't figure out is whether this is a standard or a sport. Does anyone know what the difference between the two is? There appears to be a max hp rating difference, but construction wise, what is changed? This boat does not currently have a console installed (not sure if it ever had one or not), and the forward wall of the splash well is straight across and full width.
