Yamaha L4 3.0, 21', fuel consumption???

I have a 1987 21' Sylvan bowrider with a Yamaha L4 3.0 stern drive and I have not been able to find any approximate figures for fuel consumption.

I know fuel consumption will vary widely but I would like to have some rough idea what to expect.

Anybody else running one?

i have the same set up, except on a 17.5 ft boat. I cant tell you what you fuel economy will be like because of the size difference in the boats. The economy would be the same as any other boat similar to yours with a 4 cyl 3.0 in it.

21 Footer with a 3.0L in it? Wow that has got to be underpowered......

My bet is I'll get much better mileage with my 21 footer with a 5.7 Gxi.

I'm at around 4.5+ mpg at cruise, 2.4 mpg at WOT. I would expect at least 1 mpg worse with your setup.

Too many unknowns to even guess. (Wet foam? Full load of people? Speed? Full fuel tank and what size? Has tilt/trim? Prop size? Towing skiers? Etc.)
