    Default Washdown Install

I'm wanting to install a raw water wash down in my deck boat. I have pretty much decided to use an existing seacock instead of putting another hole in my boat. The seacock that is there now has a short hose running to a live well pump. Instead of getting a new dual port live well pump, can I just "T" off of the hose in between the seacock and the live well pump and then into my new washdown pump?

    Default Re: Washdown Install

I did something similar on my pontoon a few yrs ago. The sureflo washdown pump will pull directly from the water with a hose attached to the intake side providing that you are not trying to pull the water to far or high. It sounds like you will actually have the water pumped to the pump by way of your live well pump and certainly this will give your wash down pump plenty of water. I would go between the live well seacock and the pump and close the sea **** so as not having water trying to get past the t into the live well. As long as the washdown pump is not running you should be able to fill your live well as before. Makes sense to me.
