I have a 1985 Cheetah 160 and am wondering who manufacter the boat and also am wondering how much hp motor it will handle. It came with a 1985 Force made by u.s.marine. Does not seem to go that fast for a 50 hp. but who know . I am new to boating so hope this question is not to stupid. Thanks for any answer that i might receive.

This is whats listed with the Coast Guard. Date of manufacture is Oct 4 1985.As far as HP goes there should be a specification plate mounted on or near the transom, or the helm area. I THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE A PLATE ALSO WITH SOME KIND OF INFO, ON IT BUT HAVE LOOK ALL OVER AND SEEM TO BE NOTHING AT ALL. THANKS FOR THE INFO.

Anybody know where to get a "coast guard tag" for your boat? If a boat were restored and the plate was removed..
