Livewell

Just completes a floor rebuild and carpeting on a 1990 seanymph 16ft bass boat. Did not for some unknown reason take a picture of the livewell inside. Have new livewell pump installed. My question is how does the water go back out. I do have hose connected to drain line. However for some reason i keep thinking there was a bilge pump inside thew livewell to drain the well

all the live wells I have seen in the past are self draining while in use. The pump fills the livewell then there is a over flow which dumps out the side or bottom of the boat which is above the water line on the boat. They also have a drain to drain them completely when out of the lake.
