    Question Helm storage

    Hello all,

I have a question regarding storage inside the helm of my 22 prokat. Since it is a cat, the area inside the helm isnt as deep as a monohull. I really only use it for storage and a little potty for the kids. I want to maximize this space and have been searching the net and just havent come up with what i am looking for. Against the panel that covers the back of the instruments and steering, i would like to hang some plastic shelving with high lips for things like fluids (oil, hydraulic), cleaners, and other chemicals (aeresol, spray bottles, etc). Has anyone seen anything like this? (i have found some metal ones online, but not plastic) On the port side of the helm, i would like to have some basic shelves (again plastic would be best) to hold things like tool box, spotlight, first aid kit, etc. Any suggestions here?

    Thanks in advance,
    Charles

    Hi again,

As I was waiting to get some hits on this thread, I did some more searching. Thinking back to my motorcycle racing days, i thought looking at pit supplies might be a good idea. I found racks and bins exactly like I am looking for but they are metal. What i want is plastic versions of things like these:

    and

I am amazed I cant find stuff like this in plastic. Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Charles

Why not just build your own?

Plexiglas sheet is available from the major home supply stores, as well as other retailers.

You also might be able to find a used plastic cabinet that you could disassemble to make the shelves from.

I got this heavy-duty cabinet for free from Freecyle.org online, painted it up and use it for storage in my shed. Might find something similar at a retail outlet near you, or perhaps from Freecycle.

    Just a couple options.
