Default Stains on Non Skid Area

We took our boat out of Winter Storage and the boat had been waxed and polished, and a non skid wax apparently had been put on the non skid areas of our deck. The non skid area is now looking like it was smudged or stained or scuffed. The boat is 20 years old and is cream colored, but the stains or scuffs are white. Does anyone know how to remove this? Do I use acetone, muriatic acid, or a 3M wax remover? Should I try to buff it out?
