    Default Canvas SnapTite Fasteners

Three of my riveted snaptite fasteners broke off from the fiberglass on my boat. The rivets actaully snapped off. I bought some screw in fasteners. What is the best way to put these in, w/o chipping the fiberglass? I need to somehow get the broken rivet stud out as well. Any ideas? Thanks

Countersinking the edge of the hole will help prevent chipping. Drill the rivets out and screw the studs in. Most come in screw sizes 6 or 8 by 1/2" long so check the fit. If too big, fill in the holes with structural filler (cheap 5 minute epoxy from wallyworld will work fine) and re-drill for correct size.
