We never want to hear about boating fatalities, especially if one loves boating. Unfortunately, there was a fatal accident Sept 21st this year that killed a man in his aluminium boat. We always want everyone to be safe on the water, hoping the captain has the proper equipment each and every time. It is also essential to be aware of your surroundings. Keep the little boats in mind when out on your larger vessels such as the cabin cruisers or yachts. The seized vessel suspected of hitting the small skiff was a Sea Ray Sundancer 390. The picture below shows a boat similar to the suspected one.

Now that ship is enormous compared the 14' Aluminum boat the other person was driving. It is more than necessary to see what's in front of your ship. Be careful and drive safely if there is not a clear view of your surroundings. The skiff removed from the water cannot be used again.

We do not like seeing these stories in the news and only a skilled captain can prevent them. Make sure there is always enough life vests and proper equipment because accidents can happen. Better to be safe than sorry, safe boating!
