Hi all, I'm going to look at a 1989 20' Arriva bowrider this evening to inspect and test drive this evening. The seller is asking $6k. Pictures make it look like it's in great shape... of course I'll look for soft spots in the floor, etc.... does this seem a bit much he's asking for?

If it looks like its got a new interior, be suspect of everything. Its a 28yr old boat and 6K is right in the middle of what many charge for redone boats that only got cosmetic work, but still have lingering (now hidden) problems that need to be addressed.

Well I bought it and talked him down to $5500. It was in great shape but nothing noticeably covered up. For instance, the cushions were in decent shape for such an old boat and you could tell it's been under cover for it's life. The engine is clean and in great shape for an older engine. Oil didn't smell, was clean, and I saw no signs of leakage. Couldn't find any soft spots in the floor; carpet is in good shape. The exterior is very good; another noticeable thing that it's been under cover. It drove wonderfully and the wife and kid are happy! :) I can't wait to have fun with it. ... now to knock the cob webs out on boating... ha ha Also got rid of all my boat stuff a few years back so need to accumulate it again! Go figure! I'll post pix soon. Thanks - this forum has served me well for years!

Congrats! We need some pics. Arriva's were sharp boats.

No Title

Ok, I'm attaching pix that the seller took (prior to me buying). Upon inspection, the cushions could use a good cleaning but the boat looks to have been indoors most of its life, as evidenced by the exterior as well. Could use a good wax but no major oxidation.
